When is it happening?
5th to 11th December 2021
Where is it happening?
At a century old bungalow in Nainital, about 20 odd minutes away from
the famous Mall Road. We’re keeping the exact location a secret for
the time being, and will let you know the name a few weeks before the
start of the Retreat. Rest assured that our chosen location is the perfectly
secluded and serene haven that we need.
Nestled high up in the Kumaon Himalayas at an altitude of around
2,000 m above sea level, Nainital is surrounded by seven hills and
centred around the emerald mountain lake Naini. As the summer capital
of the British era, this beautiful hill station is dotted with
colonial style bungalows and peaceful green vistas.
How to get there?
Nainital is a 7 hour drive from Delhi. If you are planning to fly
down, Delhi features the closest commercial airport too. If you
plan on coming by train, the closest railway station is at Kathgodam
(35 km). If you are having trouble arranging your last mile arrival
at the Retreat, do get in touch with us at
So, when do I get there and when do I leave?
Travelling to the hills is a full day task, particularly if you’re coming
from somewhere that’s not Delhi. So plan to reach the night before the Retreat
begins, i.e. 5th December. Ease in, have dinner with your co-attendees, have a
word with the facilitators. Settle in for a good night’s sleep so we can start
nice and early. The Retreat will be conducted over 6th to 10th December. You
may plan to leave for your destination on the 11th.
How many participants will there be in all?
20 at the maximum. The idea is to create an intimate group of people
who are serious about their creative transformation and can be cheerleaders
for each other’s creative journey. We also ensure that we have a diverse
and varied lot across creative domains and experience levels so that when
the journeys intersect, there are enough experiences and stories to take solace in.
What’s the accommodation like?
The property in Nainital we have chosen for the December 2021 Retreat is a
colonial style, vast and homely bungalow. It offers 12 rooms with double occupancy.
There will be a total of 20 attendees with 2 facilitators at the Retreat.
How much does it cost?
INR 59,000 + government taxes. For details on where your money goes and

Creativegarh has a zero-garbage tolerance policy. The Retreat will be held at a pristine location nestled within the mountains and we ensure that we leave the property as clean and green as we found it. Attendees are requested to keep track of their belongings and make sure that they do not discard anything anywhere apart from the bins.
We at Creativegarh do not support the use of drugs because we believe that creativity does not require the crutches of mind altering substances. The use of drugs is prohibited at the Retreat.
The owners and caretakers of the bungalow have painstakingly created a comfortable stay rich with heritage. Please be respectful of their effort inside as well as outside the bungalow amidst the vibrant manicured greenery.
The Retreat at Nainital is located in a serene and quiet area. Loud music after 10.30 pm invites instant complaints from the locals. Make your experience at the Retreat stress free and play your music soft.
Water is a precious commodity, all the more in the hills. Please be mindful of your use. Do not wash your clothes in the bathrooms. You may give your laundry to the staff who will arrange for it to be cleaned, this service will be charged extra.
We understand that everybody enjoys their drinks and we expect you to respect other people’s enjoyment as well. Drunk and disorderly conduct or disturbing other guests’ peace will not be tolerated.
