And it doesn't care about dates, plans and resolutions. It's always there to kill your spirit.           It will show up when you are about to embark on a new project, a diet, a retreat; when you want to de-addict yourself; when you want to learn something new, move out of your comfort zone, do something morally correct, or anything that requires commitment.           It'll tell you that you suck at what you do. It'll ask you to give up on dieting because you only live once. It tells you that everyday journalling is a waste of time. It'll seduce you with Netflix instead of working on your life goals. It'll keep pushing, telling you that a spiritual pursuit is just mumbo-jumbo and that you are doing just fine.           It goes for the jugular, and it doesn't stop. You can scream back once in a while, use the choicest cuss words from the Indian hinterland, indulge in name-calling, but it just keeps getting stronger.           The only way to overcome resistance is to do it now.           Have not been eating healthy? Don't wait for Monday to start a new diet regime. Make your next meal healthy.           Have not been journalling? Don't push it to the next day. Do it right away.           Have not been showing up? Start now. Not on the 1st of next month.           Have to quit smoking? Don't wait for 31st December.           Want to start a new project? Don't wait for the new moon. Start today. Preferably, now.           Have to apologise to someone? Don't wait for your or their birthday. Pick up the phone now.           Now.           Nothing kills resistance faster than taking action. A baby step, if one may.
