When is it happening?
3rd to 9th July 2022
Where is it happening?
At a pristine cottage tucked away in the majestic land of Tirthan Valley.
The holiday home sits right by the Tirthan River, ensconced by lush green
mountains and an azure-blue sky. It is only here that you will find the
rumbling of the flowing river in absolute harmony with the serenity of the
atmosphere – a setting that weaves a soulful soliloquy in a traveller’s mind.
The cottage is draped in an old-world charm, and is yet classy in equal measures.
It is rustic, and yet grandeur.
How to get there?
Tirthan Valley in Himachal Pradesh is a 12-hour drive from Delhi (514 km)
and an 8-hour drive from Chandigarh (269 km). If you are planning to fly down,
you can fly from either Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi (1 hr 20 mins)
or Chandigarh International Airport (50 mins). The nearest airport to the venue
is Bhuntar Airport (52.4 km). From Bhuntar, you can take a cab or a bus to reach
the destination. It will take you a little less than 2 hours from the airport to
reach the venue. If you are having trouble arranging your last mile arrival at
the Retreat, do get in touch with us at email@example.com
How many participants will there be in all?
18 at the maximum. The idea is to create an intimate group of people who are serious
about their creative transformation and can be cheerleaders for each other’s creative
journey. We also ensure that we have a diverse and varied lot across creative domains
and experience levels, so that when the journeys intersect, there are enough experiences
and stories to take solace in.
So, when do I get there and when do I leave?
Travelling to the hills is a full-day task, particularly if you’re coming from somewhere
that’s not Delhi. So, plan to reach before sundown on the 3rd July. Ease in, have
dinner with your co-attendees, have a word with the facilitators and settle in for a good
night’s sleep, so we can start nice and early on the following day. The Retreat will be
conducted from 4th to 8th July. You may plan to leave for your destination
after breakfast on the 9th.
What’s the accommodation like?
Located by the gushing Tirthan River, this cottage is a perfect hideout for those looking
to rejuvenate their souls. The property is fronted by a sit-out right by the river, where
you can pull up a chair and soak up the beauteous surroundings. This sit-out makes for the
perfect spot for you to start your mornings in, or perhaps end your day with a bonfire.
The babbling river and lush green mountains further accentuate the charm of this space.
The façade of the cottage is designed in Kath-Kuni technique with exposed bricks, polished
wood and hip roofs that exude a rustic charm and invite you to step inside. Indoors, the
abode boasts wood-panelled interiors to keep you warm at all times. The common sitting
area is furnished with cane armchairs, elegant sofa sets, a centre table, a floor bed with
cushions and bolsters, and beautiful rugs. This space makes for a good spot for you to kick
back with your travel companions and indulge in hearty conversations. The dining area is
cushioned, so you can cosy up and savour a lip-smacking meal.
Each bedroom in the cottage is a haven of tranquility that ensures you get a serene slumber
at the end of an eventful day. The bedrooms are each appointed with a comfy double bed with
side tables, a dressing area, and a chair for your convenience. Glass-panelled windows allow
ample light inside the rooms, while bedside lamps ensure you can read well into the night.
The en suite washrooms are tiled and fitted with western sanitary ware. The bedrooms are
connected to balconies that look out to the majestic Tirthan Valley.
There will be a total of 18 attendees with 2 facilitators at the Retreat.
