Sometimes, it’s the baby steps that are the big leaps. |

We all have lofty ideas, visions of grandeur and aspirations to create monumental designs. We want to change our lives in one grand sweep, and this is where the grandiosity falls and so do we, the creatives, setting ourselves up for failure. Flat on our faces, injured, scarred, and shattered.

It's not about setting a high standard or a big-hairy-audacious-goal, the BHAG as they say in corporate boardrooms, and not about bringing the elephant in the room. It's about eating the proverbial elephant but in small bits. It's about not gulping more air than your lungs can take, not biting more than you can chew on the dinner table irrespective of your enormous appetite.

Make the little moves, the tiny steps, the bite-sized actions. The first three, if you may. Before getting down to painting your masterpiece, don't call the art gallery, buy the paints. Before you write code, don't call the investors. Write the script before you think of moving and settling in Mumbai. Instead of investing in a writer's bungalow, make a sacred space for your writing in the corner of your bedroom. Don't call the publisher before you even have a manuscript. Don't invest in an expensive pair of shoes even before you do a few practice runs to gauge your love for running.

Look at the big picture for sure but start with the pixels. Think of taking a big, big leap, but start with a baby step. Imagine flying but get going first with a run.

You show up and do the little things. The big ones then will do theirs.

In every loss for you, there’s you to be found. |

In every loss there is something new to be found. Sometimes you can't see it immediately, but as soon as the dots connect, the incredible reality reveals itself to you. And all you can do is sit in awe and wonder at how everything, just everything happens to a divine plan and timing.

Sometimes in the loss of the love that had started becoming your reason for living again, you find a love that's deeper, kinder, stronger, magical and dream-like. Sometimes in the loss of a job, you find an opportunity that brings you back to the gifts and talents you had far locked away in the suitcases of memories and time.
Sometimes in the loss of a relationship with a friend who'd been with you for years, you find that you had outgrown the friendship long ago and whatever you were holding onto was just a thin thread of mutual respect, politeness and conditioning of not letting go, in the process, holding each other back.
Sometimes when you lose someone you depended on, you find the strength to step into your own light and realise that all this while, you were meant for so much more. You had just never given yourself a chance or had an opportunity to experience it.
Sometimes when you lose a belief that you are holding on to for years, you will find unbridled freedom in expressing your real self. Sometimes when you miss the bus, you realise that you have found a new path to walk yourself home - a path that is paved with happy memories, a spring in the step and lilies too.
Sometimes when you lose your mind, you'll find yourself and this new version of you that is all heart and no mind as the version that you love the most. Sometimes when you lose the battle against all odds, you find the comfort of your own inner space, your own sanctuary that keeps you protected from all the wars the mind and Ego wages against you.
Sometimes when you lose yourself, you find the most profound and authentic version of yourself that puts you on the path of honouring your purpose.
Sometimes when you lose your flow of thought, you find a 'sweet' pun to end a post with.
