Give yourself permission to not be you. |
Break free from every belief that defines you, the 'your way' of doing things that are a result of your conditioning and not your own free will.
Tear away the pages of the rule book that was written for you when you were born. A book that seems inviting and safe from the cover, but the pages have a rancid smell of limiting beliefs, blind rituals, patriarchy, walking on eggshells, giving in to the narcissism of a parent and the stifling footnotes of 'what will people say'.
Allow yourself the freedom to post a reel when you want to and not dictated by an AI algorithm. Give yourself the freedom to eat when you are hungry and not because it's dinnertime. Allow yourself to choose your calling and not have a calling slapped onto you. Give yourself the permission to say no to a family event and yes to an evening with yourself. Give yourself the permission to do what feels right to you. Let your heart lead and don't get caught up in the narrative of 'what if'. Choose 'what is' feeling right to you at this moment in time. Take the path that feels right to you, not the one written on chapter 7, line 56 handed down to you generation after generation from those who have still not been able to heal their own traumas.
Give yourself the permission to heal, to grow, to rewrite the rules, to bend the genres, to hold on to what serves you, ant to let go of anything that does not. Give yourself the permission to make the wrong decision and own it, crumble if you have to, but through those shards you'll resurrect a new version of you - whole and complete, perfect in its imperfections.
Give yourself the permission to become a mess and find peace in it. Allow yourself to fold when things seem overwhelming and unfold when you are ready for a transformation.
Give yourself the permission to unquestionably accept, unconditionally surrender, non-judgmentally witness, to laugh, to cry, to fall apart, to come together, to free, to flee, and to love yourself fiercely.
Give yourself the permission to shed the skin of the past and not be you. Or who everyone expects you to be.
Forgive yourself for looking for love in all the wrong places. |
Forgive yourself for seeking encouragement from your parents. They never really approved of you as a non-conformist because of their own insecurities, their own internal battles. They were trying to protect themselves, not you.
Forgive yourself for looking for mentorship from your teacher. She had her own reasons for having her blue-eyed students and you not being one of them.
Forgive yourself for seeking validation from your followers on social media. They were never invested in you in the first place.
Forgive yourself for expecting kindness and motivation from critics. They played only to economics and galleries.
Forgive yourself for your bosses not standing by you. They had their own reasons to not see you follow your dreams while they toiled with their PowerPoint decks and red eye flights.
Forgive yourself for your spouse not understanding you. They could not see beyond their own filters and the role you were meant to play in their life. Playing anything outside your character rattled them to no end.
Forgive yourself for not getting support from your own ilk. They themselves were blocked and could only do one thing with you - wallow in self-pity.
Forgive yourself for blindly allowing other creators to live off your energy. They were devoted to the service of ego, not art.
Forgive yourself for not allowing yourself a life of creativity till now. And forgive others too.
Get up and start doing. Your creations are looking for your love.
