To view this newsletter in the browser, click here                 Issue #86       A newsletter from Creativegarh to help you live a life of passion, purpose and meaning.         Don't be at the mercy of the muse.                     We wait endlessly for creativity to act upon us, for inspiration to strike, for the right idea to notice us across the room and seduce us, for the muse to drunk dial us. We long for the energy it takes to sit down and create in a state of flow.           This point of view is rather romantic and well, dramatic. It paints the creative person as a long-lost lover, desperately waiting for her beloved but all she experiences is unrequited love.           You can't ever be at the mercy of the muse. You can't wait for the muse to sweep you off your feet, for it to hold your hand and lead you to the dance floor for a round of foxtrot.           The muse is always there on the dance floor, waiting.           It’s you, who's not coming to the party because of your own ego, traumas, lack of confidence, lack of self-love, self-loathing, fear of failure, fear of judgement, beliefs and coping mechanisms that don't work for you anymore.           Show up. You have to be an active participant in creation, the dancer in the rhythm of life, the poet in the song of life, the artist in the masterpiece of life, the vessel in the creation of life.           The universe creates through you. The muse becomes reality through you. The magic happens through you. The miracles become natural happenings through you. Through you, the dance and the dancer become one to that one moment in time when the dancer dissolves, only the dance remains. When you become the flow.           Creative energy and inspiration are always available on tap. It's you who's not showing up for the muse, it's you who disappears for months, sometimes years, sometimes an entire lifetime. It's you who doesn't dance.           Showing up is a love language. A language when spoken is responded doubly by the universe. It's a language that moves the universe and your soul equally. A language that is spoken through action, through love for yourself and what gets created through you.           In fact, the muse is at your mercy to be birthed and brought into this world. Will you not show up for it today?           Come on darling, let's dance!                 Be the villain in someone's film.                     Sometimes, to honour your own passions, talents, gifts, purpose, freedom and fearlessness, you have to be the bad guy in someone's story.           You can't be liked by everyone, every time. Sometimes you have to bail out at the last minute, you have to take yourself out of the collective emotional game and fight with your own demons. Sometimes you have to play the lead role in your life and playing the sidekick in someone else's can wait. Sometimes to stand up for yourself, you have to stand someone up. Sometimes to follow your path and your dreams, you have to unfollow someone on social media and in real life. Sometimes to put your life together, you have to break a promise that you made to someone, and sometimes you may even have to break a promise you made to yourself for you didn't know any better and your promise was hooked on a belief that has been passed on to you through generations. Sometimes to walk a path, you have to choose to walk alone and let go of those who may be slowing you down.           Sometimes you have to cancel a plan, you have to sleep in, you have to ask for time out, you have to say no to an opportunity, you have to say no to someone who needs your help today. You do not have to show up for someone at the risk of not showing up for yourself. Sometimes it's okay to not be there for someone when they need you the most because chances are, you need yourself more that day. How can you be there for others when you can't take care of yourself first? It's okay to wear the Oxygen mask first in a flight before you put it onto others.           It's okay to be the bad guy in someone's narrative and their own reality. It’s okay to be called a wet blanket or a party pooper. It's okay to experience the dislike and disappointment of others than not setting a boundary and putting yourself on the altar of self-betrayal.           Guilt is the obstacle. Feeling selfish is the culprit. The answer is self-love.
