When is it happening?

10th to 16th May, 2026

Where is it happening?

The retreat unfolds in the quiet hills above Bhimtal, at Ramaniya and The Verandah, two neighbouring hillside stays set just five minutes apart. Surrounded by beautiful mountains, terraced slopes, and long stretches of open sky, this part of Kumaon carries a soulful rhythm. Life here moves at its own pace. Mornings arrive softly. Evenings linger.

Ramaniya  sits 9 kilometres above Bhimtal, opening out to wide valley views, lawns, decks, and spaces that invite stillness. A short walk away, The Verandah offers a more intimate, homelike warmth, with every room looking out onto the hills. Together, they create a shared landscape of quiet comfort and natural beauty, close enough to feel connected, yet spacious enough to breathe.

Beyond the retreat spaces, the region offers simple, grounding ways to engage with the land. Gentle treks wind through forested trails and village paths. Boating on Bhimtal Lake is a short drive away, offering calm water and open horizons. For those drawn to a touch of adventure, paragliding experiences are available nearby, giving you a brief, breathless view of the hills from above.

For seekers, Neem Karoli Baba’s Dham at Kainchi lies just about 45 minutes away. Many choose to visit for a quiet darshan, a moment of reflection, or simply to sit in a place that has held decades of devotion and silence.

Venue

Set quietly on a lush hillside, 9 kilometres above Bhimtal, Ramaniya feels less like a property and more like a pause. Newly built yet deeply at ease with its surroundings, this 5,000-square-foot villa opens out to valley views, open lawns, a sheltered deck, and a terrace where nights arrive gently, under a sky full of stars.

What stays with you here is the view. From every room, from the deck, from quiet corners you didn’t expect to linger in. It creates a feeling of being held, of seeing far while feeling grounded. A kind of ease settles in, almost without asking.

Ramaniya shares its hillside setting with The Verandah, a homestay so quietly beautiful that, for many, it becomes the reason to come to Bhimtal in the first place.

Warm, tasteful, and deeply welcoming, The Verandah is designed around comfort and care. The interiors feel lived-in and thoughtful, the kind of spaces that invite you to settle rather than impress. Here, guest comfort is not a service standard, it is a way of being.

So, when do I get there and when do I leave?

To ensure a seamless start to our retreat, we recommend you check-in at the venue at the latest by 2pm on the 10th of May, Sunday. This is effectively a five and a half days program, beginning officially with our welcome circle at 3.55pm on the same day.

You’re welcome to spend the day unwinding, take a quiet walk around the property, connect with fellow retreaters, soak in the stillness and enjoy a nourishing dinner as we prepare to begin this beautiful collective journey. The retreat will then continue with full-day sessions from 11th up till late evening of 15th May. You may plan to leave for your destination any time before 11am on the 16th.

How many participants will there be in all?

16-18 at the maximum. The idea is to create an intimate group of people who are serious about their creative transformation and can be cheerleaders for each other’s transformation journey. We also ensure that we have a diverse and varied lot across domains and experience levels, so that when the journeys intersect, there are enough experiences and stories to take solace in.

What’s the accommodation like?

Ramaniya is spacious and light-filled, with warm contemporary interiors, wide glass windows, and views that open out to the valley from every room. Decks, lawns, and shared living spaces invite both gathering and solitude. It’s a place that feels expansive, yet calm. The Verandah offers a more intimate, homelike experience. Its interiors are cosy, tasteful, and welcoming, with every room opening onto a private verandah overlooking wooded hills and terraced slopes.

Together, the two stays balance openness and warmth, privacy and connection. Whether you’re resting, reflecting, or simply being, the spaces are designed to support a slower, more grounded way of living.

How much does it cost?

INR 95,000 + government taxes per person on twin sharing.
